India's veteran cricketer Virat Kohli is not having a great series with the bat in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After a magnificent hundred in the first Test at Perth, Kohli has struggled to bat for longer periods in the last two Tests at Adelaide and Brisbane.
Recently, Kohli accepted that he has not been disciplined enough in the second and third Tests of the series which has resulted in his early dismissals. However, he also claimed that the pitches in this series have been more livelier than the ones on India's last two tours of Australia.

Virat Kohli confesses of not being "disciplined enough"
Virat Kohli spoke to Ravi Shastri just before the start of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. During his chat with the former India head coach, Kohli claimed that India would have easily accepted the 1-1 scoreline going into the fourth Test before the start of the series.
During this brief conversation on Star Sports, Kohli also admitted to not being disciplined enough during the last two Tests in Adelaide and Brisbane in which he was dismissed cheaply.
"I mean, if you would have told us we're gonna be one all heading into Boxing Day Test, we would have taken it with both hands. Yeah, I agree last 2 or 3 innings haven't gone the way I wanted to. I haven't been disciplined enough to stick in there and grind it out and that's what the challenge that Tests bring," Kohli said.
Ready and determined! 💪

Pitches are much livelier in this series: Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli also noted the change in the nature of the pitches from India's last tour of Australia. He claimed that the pitches in this series are much livelier than the previous ones and it requires a different approach.
"These pitches are, are much livelier than the last time that we played here, so there's a different approach that's required, but that's something that I've taken a lot of pride in to go out there and encounter different conditions and step up when the team wants me to or needs me to," the 36-year-old added.
The pitches in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy have been helpful for the fast bowlers so far. In all the three Tests of the series till now, fast bowlers have enjoyed bowling on wickets with good seam and bounce. As a result, the top ten wicket-takers of the series are fast bowlers.
Sam Konstas shines on debut
Meanwhile, it has been a great start to the Test match for Australia. After winning the toss and batting first. Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja put on 89 runs for the first wicket inside the first 20 overs.
Konstas was especially audacious with his strokeplay and played some adventurous shots in his maiden Test innings. The 19-year-old played some risky scoops and reverse scoops to put India under pressure right from the start.
Konstas was dismissed for a fiery 60 off 65 balls, which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. His opening partner Usman Khawaja scored 57 off 121 balls but was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah again.
