After a long and tiring net session, the former Indian captain stopped to talk to a local net bowler. He encouraged him, spoke to him calmly, and later even signed a cricket ball for him, turning a normal practice day into an unforgettable moment for the net bowler.

Kohli's Key Advice to the Net Bowler

Kohli's advice to the net bowler was very simple. He emphasized that conceding runs is part of the game, but bowling with conviction is everything.

The modern batting icon was heard saying, “Agar maar padh bhi jaati hai to koi baat nahi, par conviction se, ki main wo ball daal raha hu jo mujhe daalna hai, main wo ball nahi daal raha jo batsman mujhse dalwa raha hai (Even if you get hit, it’s fine. But you should have the conviction that you are delivering a ball that you want to, not the one the batter wants you to bowl.”

Kohli’s sublime form in the 50-over format

Kohli came into the ongoing three-match ODI series in sublime form. In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, the Delhi batter scored 131 against Andhra and 77 against Gujarat and looked comfortable against both fast bowlers and spinners.

Now playing only one format for India, Kohli’s recent performances clearly highlight how he is enjoying his game. In the ODI series against South Africa, he was named Player of the Series after scoring 302 runs in just three matches at an outstanding average of 151.

Notably, Kohli has an excellent record against New Zealand in ODIs. In 33 matches, he has scored 1,657 runs at an average of 55.23, making him one of India’s biggest threats in the ODI series.
