Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli is back in action after a long break from international cricket. Since retiring from Test cricket earlier this year in May, Virat Kohli has been living in London with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and kids—Vamika and Akaay.

There have been reports that the former Indian captain might make a comeback with the upcoming unofficial ODI series between India A and Australia A. But there is no official word on the same. Even Kohli has not yet checked in at the NCA in Bengaluru for the mandatory fitness tests.

It is being said that the dashing right-handed batter had already undergone fitness tests in London, and he is now gearing up for his much-awaited comeback later this year. It remains to be seen whether Kohli would turn up for India A to get some match practice under his belt before the crucial Australia tour.

Amidst the reports of the upcoming ODI series in Australia being a farewell series for both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the Delhi lad has been sweating it out in London, with several pictures with the fans from his training session going viral across the formats.

Now, another photo of Kohli went viral from London. It was with a net bowler who helped the former Indian skipper to be in shape during his net session at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. He is working intensely to make a strong comeback in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia.

Kohli was last seen in action for India during their triumphant ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE in March 2025, and he was expected to return in the national colors against Bangladesh. However, that Bangladesh tour was suspended due to diplomatic issues, delaying Virat’s return.

Now, he is gearing up for India’s ODI tour of Australia, starting on October 19. Kohli will only be playing in ODIs, as he has retired from both the T20I and Test formats. His sudden decision to quit Test cricket before the England tour surprised fans and left them eagerly waiting for his ODI return.

Big matches of the Asia Cup 2025 struggle to fill seats without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2025 has started in the UAE, but the tickets are still unsold for the big matches like India vs Pakistan. Tickets, which usually sell out quickly for such high-profile games, haven’t seen the expected demand this time.

And the former Indian batter and commentator Aakash Chopra believes the biggest reason behind this drop in crowd numbers is the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Chopra explains that it is not about expensive tickets or inconvenient match timings, but it’s simply because fans want to watch their favorite stars in action. If Kohli and Rohit were playing, the crowd would have easily doubled, with thousands more turning up just to see them bat.
