"Virat Kohli & edges - never ending story" - Fans attack India batter for his failure on ODI return

Fans on Twitter reacted after India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli bagged a failure in the ongoing second ODI against England National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

Virat Kohli, who made his return to the Indian XI after missing the first game, didn't have a great outing as he was back in the hut just after facing just 8 balls in his innings. He started on high as he played a gorgeous straight drive, and it seemed that the Cuttack crowd would be up for show.

However, that wasn't the case, as Adil Rashid ended his stay at the crease. The leg-spinner floated full ball around off that drifted in initially. Virat Kohli leaned ahead to block but the ball turned away nicely to be caught by Phil Salt, who appealed immediately.

Phil Salt convinced Jos Buttler to take the DRS and the UltraEdge detected a clear spike when the ball was next to the bat. The India National Cricket Team batter was back in the hut after scoring just 5 runs off 8 balls and also slammed one boundary in his innings.

Adil Rashid continued his dominance over Virat Kohli, as this was the fourth time that the leg-spinner removed him in ODIs. Overall, in 9 innings, the batter has managed just 108 runs at an average of 27 and a strike rate of just around 92.

Virat Kohli will now have just one ODI to get his form back ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The failure in the ongoing innings means that Virat Kohli's lean patch in the Indian colors continued. The batter hasn't been able to get going at all as he failed terribly in the Tests and also bagged a low score in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 game, which he played against Railways for Delhi.

Virat Kohli will now be having just an ODI to get his form back ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He would want to score some runs in the last game and help his team win.
