A fan invades the security to meet Virat Kohli in Rajkot
India played their first two matches of 2026 in Gujarat, as the India vs New Zealand series kicked off with the first ODI in Vadodara. The ground hosted its first International men's match. The Men in Blue then advanced to Rajkot for the second ODI between the two teams.
While Kohli was fielding for India at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, formerly known as the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, a fan of Virat Kohli rushed in and breached security to meet the global star.
The fan, who seemed to be a young guy, escaped the security barriers and ran to the centre of the pitch to meet Kohli and hug him once. The Indian star also greeted him well with a hug; however, soon the security personnel approached and dragged him out of the ground.

Virat Kohli's relentless streak of 50+ scores broke in Rajkot
Ever since his return to international cricket with the ODIs in Australia, Kohli, after two consecutive ducks, picked up form from the third ODI in Sydney. Kohli's first 50+ score since his return came in the SCG ODI when he, alongside Rohit Sharma, helped India to their only win in the series.
He then arrived in India with the Indian contingent and amassed 302 runs in the series, with two centuries in the first two games of the series, and finished it with an unbeaten half-century. The same form did not dim in the Vijay Hazare Trophy return, as he stood tall with a century and a half-century on return.
Kohli started the New Zealand series with a stupendous 93 that helped India to chase a 301-run target successfully, which also took him past Rohit Sharma in the ICC ODI Batting rankings. However, the Rajkot finally broke his 50+ streak as he was dismissed for 23 off 29 balls, succumbing to the building pressure.
Virat Kohli to get a new home ground in RCB
Kohli, who has received so much love from the Chinnaswamy crowd throughout his career in international as well as IPL cricket, will now have to make a move from the iconic venue, which has witnessed so many thrilling contests.
As per the reports, RCB will play the five matches in the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the remaining two in Raipur's Shaheen Veer Narayan Singh Stadium next season. As per these confirmations from the TOI, Virat will now get a new homeground from the upcoming season of the IPL.
