Indian legend Virat Kohli has a huge fanbase that has backed him throughout a long career, but they have tended to go toxic when a player has caused trouble for their idol, Virat Kohli. The same has now happened with Indian child prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru had not lost a single game since the knockouts of the last edition of the IPL until they faced the Rajasthan Royals at the ACA Stadium on Friday. The Rajasthan Royals played their final match at this venue and have made a solid start to IPL 2026 with four consecutive wins.
The Rajasthan Royals' top three have been creating absolute mayhem at any venue and against any opposition they have played in this edition of the TATA IPL. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been in the spotlight in all of these games.
Virat Kohli, pleased with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's innings, congratulated him with a unique gesture
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not let the powerplay restrictions slip away after Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed early in the game against the Royal Challengers. Sooryavanshi single-handedly smacked the ball to all parts of the ground.
He scored 78 off 26 balls and hit 15 boundaries while striking at a mammoth strike rate of 300. He helped the Royals stack up a powerplay score of 97 while going off for another 15-ball half-century.
Following his innings when RR won the match, Virat Kohli, the legendary cricketer, walked up to him and congratulated him for his spectacular show at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. He further congratulated him with a gesture, where he signed a cap with a note of "Well done, Vaibhav" to motivate the youngster.
Virat Kohli fans target young Rajasthan Royals star
Speaking of Vaibhav, the 15-year-old youngster from Bihar would have been inspired watching Virat Kohli play as a legendary cricketer. When he was born, Kohli had already won the World Cup with India in 2011.
Virat then went on to be the most inspiring talent for the youngsters who have witnessed Indian cricket in the last decade or so, where Kohli remained the absolute master in international cricket.
However, Kohli's fans have not had the best reception of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's thrashing of the Virat Kohli-comprising RCB side. However, he was finally caught in the deep by a diving Kohli, and that was when Kohli's fans poked him on social media.
They made trolling remarks, referring to Kohli as the real master, while some body-shamed the youngster.

15-year-old's hat-trick of glory in Guwahati
The 15-year-old did not know that it would have been a night of triple glory for him, as he got credited for his tremendous form in the matchup against the defending champions. Young Sooryavanshi won the player of the match award for his stupendous knock.
However, what would have motivated him more would have been the special honour from Kohli with a token of appreciation in the form of a signed RR cap. This seemed more of a fanboy moment for the young cricketer. Lastly, he also climbed to the top of the Orange Cap list after having completed 200 runs from his 4 matches.
