Virat Kohli finally breaks silence on Gautam Gambhir's appointment!! Informs BCCI about his views after forced call up vs Sri Lanka

Star batter Virat Kohli has given a clear message to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about his differences with Gautam Gambhir. Both Gambhir and Kohli have been involved in several on-field tussles over the past few years.

Being from Delhi, both Gambhir and Kohli are known to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Both are aggressive and do not shy away from giving it back to their opponents when the need arrives.

After the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as India's new head coach, there were speculations about how both the legends would deal with each other. Kohli will join the Indian team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka which will be the first time when Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli will work together in this new relationship.

Virat Kohli gives a clear message to BCCI on his differences with Gautam Gambhir

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli has assured the BCCI that his differences of opinion with Gautam Gambhir are not going to impact their relationship with the Indian team.

Kohli added that both of them are working towards a common goal, which is taking the Indian team forward and there is nothing that the Board needs to be concerned about.

In 2013, both Gambhir and Kohli were involved in a war of words with each other during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. They moved aggressively toward each other before being separated by another Delhi player Rajat Bhatia.

In IPL 2023, both came face-to-face with each other once again in a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This time, Gambhir was LSG's mentor with Virat Kohli playing for RCB.

After a heated argument between LSG fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir jumped in after the match during the post-match handshakes. Gambhir was seen to be moving aggressively toward Kohli and both had a heated argument afterward.

However, during an IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, Gambhir and Kohli were seen laughing and hugging each other, thus bringing an end to this decade-long rivalry between two Indian legends.

When asked about his relationship with Virat Kohli after IPL 2024, Gautam Gambhir lashed out at the media for trying to create controversy. He claimed that the country doesn't need to know the relationship between him and Kohli.

"The perception is far away from the reality. My relationship with Virat Kohli is something this country doesn't need to know. He has as much right as I do to express himself and help our respective teams win. Our relation is not to give masala to the public," Gambhir had said back then.

During the IPL 2024 season, Kohli was also asked about his differences with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir. He claimed that the masala is over for the media since they have brought an end to this rivalry.

"People are very disappointed with my behavior. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day, Gauti bhai (Gautam Gambhir came and hugged me). Your masala is over, so you're booing. We're not kids anymore," Virat had said during an event.
