Amidst the IPL 2025 actions, Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has announced his partnership with the newly launched World Bowling League (WBL) as a strategic investor. With his global influence and passion for sports, Virat Kohli is all set to bring new energy, fans, and spotlight to the WBL.
The World Bowling League brings a fresh style of play, with mixed-gender teams and exciting matches held at famous venues across the world. Making an official announcement on X, Kohli revealed that he started spinning bowling balls at age 13.

Meanwhile, the World Bowling League is a new professional sports league set to change how fans look at bowling. The WBL features modern gameplay, teams featuring both men and women and thrilling events held at famous venues worldwide.
WBL’s goal is to make bowling a popular sport for fans across the globe while displaying amazing skills and creating a lively culture around the game. Notably, the MLB star and three-time World Series champion Mookie Betts has joined the World Bowling League with his team, Team OMG.

Team OMG is owned by the Los Angeles Dodgers star and is the first-ever WBL franchise. Now, Kohli is thrilled to join the league, attracting fans to the tournament. Impressed by Adi K. Mishra’s fresh vision to change the game, Kohli is excited to come on board as an investor and partner in the WBL.
Virat stated, “I started bowling when I was 11 years old, spinning the ball by 12. It is evident how popular the sport is while being underappreciated as a business proposition. Adi K. Mishra’s vision to redefine bowling is unique, and after our success with Team Blue Rising in the E1 series, I’m thrilled to join the WBL as an investor and partner.”

Virat Kohli sets new world record in T20s
Meanwhile, Virat has added yet another milestone to his record. The RCB star became the first-ever player to score 9000 runs for the franchise.
He reached the milestone during his 54-run knock in RCB’s six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the last IPL 2025 league game on May 27.
Additionally, Kohli also became the first batter in IPL history to score 600+ runs in five different seasons. With this feat, the dashing right-handed batter has also become the RCB’s all-time leading run scorer across the IPL and Champions League T20.
After another impressive show, the former RCB captain has returned to the top 5 run scorers in the ongoing IPL 2025. He now has 602 runs in 13 innings and would love to play another wonderful knock in Qualifier 1 when RCB will face Punjab Kings on May 29 in Chandigarh.
