RCB's legendary cricketer Virat Kohli has featured for the same franchise throughout his career and has, hence, set several records for the same franchise. He has now set a new record in the clash against the Punjab Kings.
Kohli, the legendary Indian batter, is often regarded as one of the greatest cricketers to have featured in the history of the IPL. Having scored over 9000+ runs, he is nearing the 10000-run mark in the history of the competition.
Despite being part of the franchise for over 19 seasons of the IPL, Kohli has been a constant in the RCB side. Kohli was later promoted to the top of the order, especially after he took over as the captain of the side.
Virat Kohli becomes first player to reach a major milestone in the IPL
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been one of the most dominant sides in this edition of the competition. They were the champions of the previous season of the IPL, and Virat Kohli has played a brilliant role in RCB's success since the last season.
Kohli needed just seven runs to reach a massive milestone in the history of the IPL. He achieved that feat with a six off Azmatullah Omarzai's first over, which was the second over of the PBKS vs RCB clash. Kohli, with those seven runs, now has 5500+ runs as an opener.
With these many runs as one opener for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he became the first player to reach 5500+ as an opener for a single franchise. Only two other batters, Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, have scored these many runs as openers, but they have done that while playing for multiple franchises.
Virat Kohli goes past 500 runs in another IPL season.
Virat Kohli, the legendary Indian batter, has once again amassed 500+ runs in another edition of the IPL. Kohli, with the latest innings against PBKS, has gone past 500 runs in the ongoing season of the IPL. He has once again reached the top three of the Orange Cap leaderboard.
Kohli became the first player to have scored more than 500 runs for the ninth time in the history of the IPL. He is only behind the likes of Indian great batter KL Rahul and David Warner, who also have seven 500+ scores in the history of the IPL.
The first time he scored over 500 runs was back in 2011, his breakthrough season with the bat. However, he has never looked back, and since 2023, he has been scoring more than 500 runs for the fourth consecutive season.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal guides RCB with another half-century partnership
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal have been contributing handsomely to RCB's success with the bat. Alongside individual runs, both these players together have contributed to several massive partnerships, including several century partnerships as well.
Another such promising partnership came in this game after Jacob Bethell was once again dismissed early into the power play. Padikkal could not reach a half-century, but he, alongside Kohli, took RCB past the score of a hundred.
