Is Virat Kohli not interested in representing the India National Cricket Team in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia?

The batting legend Virat Kohli's close friend has finally answered this question and made things pretty clear about where the former India captain's future in international cricket is heading.

Virat Kohli to be in action in Australia

Kohli, often regarded as the GOAT of modern-day cricket, has landed in Perth for the ODI series opener of the three-match series against the Australia National Cricket Team.

Virat Kohli will be in action in his favorite hunting ground - Australia - where he averages 51.03 in ODIs and has slammed 1327 runs in 29 matches.

Not only this, he enjoys playing against the Aussies as overall in 50 games, he has scored 2451 ODI runs at an average of 54.46 against them.

The Australia series holds big importance for Virat Kohli because it will more or less determine what form he is in and whether he wants to continue the grind for two more years to participate in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

Kohli has already retired from Test and T20I cricket, and the number of ODIs in a year has significantly reduced, which means that he might have to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) to keep himself in contention for the next 50-over World Cup.

In London, he was training during this big layoff that he's had after a long time in his life - Dinesh Karthik

Amid red-hot speculations over the future of Virat Kohli, his former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) teammate, Dinesh Karthik, who is known to be his close friend, has made a massive revelation.

Dinesh Karthik stated that Kohli is fully committed to playing one more World Cup for India, and he was putting in hard yards in London. This former Indian gloveman claimed that Kohli was having two to three sessions per week to keep him in good rhythm.

“In London, he was training during this big layoff that he's had after a long time in his life,” Karthik said in a video shared on his Instagram.“And I also know he was practicing cricket easily, two to three sessions a week.”

Karthik further stated that the modern-day batting great is quite serious when it comes to featuring in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

"That tells you the man is serious about wanting to play this World Cup,” Karthik added.

And if he is around, there is no tension - Dinesh Karthik on Virat Kohli

The former India National Cricket Team gloveman further stated that Kohli is a proven performer and his presence will only benefit Team India, and he will continue to do well for the side.

"And if he is around, there is no tension, according to me, because he knows what it takes to perform under pressure. And he's done that time and time again. And I'm very confident he will do it again,” Karthik said.

The newly-appointed India ODI captain, Shubman Gill, has openly said that he would like to have both Rohit Sharma and Kohli by his side, but the head coach Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar have denied guaranteeing a spot in the ODI team to the duo.
