Indian captain Virat Kohli has a crucial day for him as he prepares to play a match-defining knock on the third day of the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton. Virat Kohli showed outstanding resolve on the second day against some remarkable bowling to keep India afloat. Nevertheless, the 32-year old was predictably emotional on the eve of Father’s day.

Virat Kohli has revealed several times in interviews that he was exceptionally close to his father. The right-handed batsman lost his father back in 2006 when he was just 18 as Prem Kohli passed away after suffering a heart attack, aged 54. Kohli was playing for Delhi at the Ranji Trophy that time and turned up to bat for his team the next day after attending his father’s funeral.
Nevertheless, Kohli would have made his father proud for being the cricketer that he is today, becoming one of the best batsmen and captains in the world. The veteran took to his official Twitter handle, wishing father’s day to all the fathers worldwide and considers it as a blessing to be a dad, which he became earlier this year. He concluded by saying he misses his own father and celebrates his memories with him to this date.
Below is Virat Kohli’s tweet:
Happy father's day to all the father's all across the world. Of all the wonderful things that God has blessed me with, being a father is by far the greatest joy and blessing . As I miss my old man this day, I also celebrate our memories together. ❤️
