Shubman Gill Breaks Records with Stunning Double Century in England Test

Shubman Gill delivered a record-breaking performance in the second Test with 269 runs, helping India post a massive total of 578. He turned the match in India’s favor and also shattered multiple records.

Gill now holds the record for the highest Test score by an Indian captain in England, surpassing Mohammad Azharuddin’s 179. He also went past Sunil Gavaskar (221 in 1979) for the highest score by an Indian in England.

Gill became the first Indian in over two decades to score 150 or more in a Test in England. The 25-year-old batter is the second-youngest Indian captain to register a double century in Tests, behind only MAK Pataudi and ahead of Sachin Tendulkar.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Continues Red-Hot Form After Explosive IPL Debut Season

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a sensational debut IPL season. The left-handed batter scored 252 runs in just seven matches at a staggering strike rate of 206.55. He scored a century off just 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The southpaw also earned the “Super Striker of the Season” award.

Suryavanshi has carried that form into India U-19’s ongoing tour of England. He recorded scores of 48 off 19 balls, 45 off 34, and 86 off just 31 deliveries in the first three Youth ODIs. The opener played a key role in helping India take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

With two Youth ODIs and two red-ball matches remaining in the series, the young southpaw will be aiming to continue his momentum and finish the tour on a strong note.
