On Wednesday morning, September 18, Kohli took to his social media handle to share a one-word post. The star Indian batter wrote 'kindness' just one day before the start of the Test match against Bangladesh.

Kohli did not stop there and shared another cryptic tweet with just the word, 'Chivalry'.

Virat Kohli Last Seen In Action During ODI Series vs Sri Lanka

Virat was last seen in action during the ODI series against Sri Lanka last month. The right-handed batter last played a Test match against South Africa in January 2024. He missed the five-match home Test series against England earlier this year due to the birth of his son, Akay Kohli.

The 35-year-old batter also missed the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. He arrived in Chennai directly from London to join the Indian team. Kohli is now training with the squad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium as they prepare for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

India captain Rohit Sharma defended Kohli during the pre-match press conference. Rohit said that managing the workload of their best players is crucial. He also added that there are many talented bowlers and promising prospects from the Duleep Trophy.

"We will always have that in the back of our mind. You want your best players to play always but that is not possible. You need to manage your bowlers. We have laid down a plan how we are going to manage them,' said Rohit.

"We will monitor their workload, we have done that pretty well so far. It all depends on how their body feels at that particular time. Considering these factors you take the call. We have a lot of bowlers, there were some great prospects in the Duleep Trophy as well."

Kohli will need to quickly regain his form for the series opener against Bangladesh in Chennai, having been away from Test cricket for a long time. He will be crucial for the Indian team, especially as Bangladesh comes into the series with confidence after a historic 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan.

The first Test match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting on Thursday, September 19.
