Virat Kohli was in a completely fun mood after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thrashed Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 of the ongoing IPL 2026 on Tuesday (May 26) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru stormed into the IPL 2026 final after crushing Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala. RCB delivered a batting masterclass, posting a massive 254/5, the highest total ever in IPL playoff history.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar played a sensational unbeaten knock of 93 off just 33 balls, while Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya have each added 43 runs against Gujarat Titans. Kohli also created history by becoming the first batter to score 600-plus runs in four straight IPL seasons.

Chasing the huge target, Gujarat Titans were under immense pressure from the start, and they ended up losing five wickets inside the powerplay. Sai Sudharsan’s hit-wicket dismissal and Shubman Gill’s cheap outing made things worse. Rahul Tewatia fought hard with a quick 68, but he had no support from the other end; as a result, GT were bowled out for 162.
Jacob Duffy starred with three wickets as RCB sealed a dominant win to make second straight IPL final qualification. However, the 2022 title winners still have one more chance to make it to the summit clash through Qualifier 2. They will face the winner of the Eliminator on May 26 – either Rajasthan Royals (RR) or Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Virat Kohli creates massive IPL record
On the other hand, Kohli added another massive achievement to his already decorated IPL career during Qualifier 1 against the Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. The RCB superstar became the first batter ever to score 500 runs against GT.
He has now scored more than 500 runs against eight different IPL teams, including Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans.
