Virat Kohli threatened by Australia legend; told to tone down or else lose spot in Team India

Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg recently spoke about Virat Kohli's poor run of form during the Test series against New Zealand. According to Hogg, Kohli is overanalyzing things which has led to his dismissal.
Kohli was dismissed for low scores in both the innings of the Pune Test. Left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner got his wicket on both occasions. He has been having problems against the spinners over the past few years and that continued in this match as well.
Kohli's poor form is one of the reasons why India suffered a shocking Test series loss at home after 12 long years. Hogg also feels that India took New Zealand too lightly and was surprised by the visitors.

Brad Hogg feels the Virat Kohli is "overanalyzing" things
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Brad Hogg spoke about India's performance against New Zealand. He feels that India took New Zealand lightly and were surprised by the way the visitors played.
Hogg also shared his views on Virat Kohli's performance and reckons that the 35-year-old India batter overanalyzed things and was not in control of his emotions during his stay at the crease.
"They took New Zealand too lightly and they are trying to play catch-up cricket. All of a sudden, you saw that mindset shift with Virat Kohli in the first innings of the second Test match. He was more aggressive, the way he strolled out there, the way that he was trying to attack the bowling," Hogg said.
"He just looked like he was overanalyzing. He looked as if he wasn't in control of his emotions and it showed in the shot that he played when he got out," he added.
Brad Hogg's advice to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli
The legendary Australia tweaker further advised Rohit Sharma to tighten up his technique against Tim Southee and Virat Kohli to be switched on from the first ball he faces.
"If you look at the technique of Rohit Sharma to (Tim) Southee, he's going to have to be a little bit tighter. Virat Kohli has to switch on from ball one," Hogg reckoned.
India's captain Rohit Sharma registered scores of 0 and 8 during Pune Test while Virat Kohli scored 1 and 17 across both innings of the match. India needed one of these batters to make a significant impact in the game but both of them failed to get a big score.
Will New Zealand's loss impact India's performance in BGT 2024-25
The former left-arm wrist-spinner further explained how this loss will help India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. According to him, India will have their work cut out in Australia since they will be eyeing the WTC final.
"The loss against New Zealand is actually a good thing because it's made them think, 'Hang on, we are not quite as good as we think. We should have dominated here but we haven't. Now we've got work to do to say in the World Test Championship competition.'"
According to Brad Hogg, India will come to Australia with extra motivation now with a more fiery attitude, and will be prepared well before the first Test against Australia. However, beating Australia in their own conditions won't be easy for India.
The Men in Blue have to be at their best to achieve a hat-trick of series wins in Australia. India's tour of Australia will commence in Perth on November 22. The five-match Test series will end with the New Year's Test in Sydney to be played from January 3-7.
