Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli is all set to achieve a massive feat in T20 cricket. The batter is on the verge of becoming the third player for India to play the 400th game in the shortest format of the game, joining the likes of Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik.

Virat Kohli will be achieving the feat in the first game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The match will be taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday (22nd March).

Virat Kohli played first five games of his T20 career for Delhi

Kohli started his T20 career in 2007 when he played his first five games for Delhi. After that, he played only in the Indian Premier League and for the Indian team. He has been one of the finest batters of this generation and has made a massive impact in the shortest format of the game.

In the 399 games that he has played, Kohli has slammed 12,886 runs at an average and strike rate of 41.43 and 134 respectively. The right-hander also has hit 9 hundreds and 47 half-centuries, which speaks to the major impact he has had on the format.

In this 400th appearance in the T20s, Virat Kohli would want to make a huge impact and help Royal Challengers Bengaluru start the IPL 2025 on high. The batter has been a different beast altogether in the IPL and he would be keen to carry forward his legacy in the new edition as well.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter in the history of the IPL

Kohli is the leading run-getter in the history of the IPL. The premier batter is the only player in the league with over 8000 runs to his name. So far, he has 8004 runs in 252 games at an average of over 38 and a strike rate of over 131 to go with 8 tons and 55 fifties.

Kohli has been in decent form in the white-ball cricket. He was the second-highest run-getter for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The batter played two magical innings in two high-pressure games and helped his team win the tournament.

Virat Kohli would want to carry on the form in the upcoming IPL 2025

Kohli slammed a solid century against Pakistan and then came up with a brilliant 84-run knock against Australia in the semi-final. He would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming IPL 2025 and take Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their maiden title in the league.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been trying hard to win the IPL ever since then. They have come close to winning on many occasions but haven't been able to have their hands at the Trophy. With the kind of squad they have this time around, they will have a great chance to end their title drought.
