The last date for the eight franchises to finalize and announce their retentions is November 30th.

The two other picks are likely to be either one of the leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal or Adam Zampa, and young opener Devdutt Padikkal.

It has also been reported that Shreyas Iyer is set to part ways with the Delhi Capitals, who are firm on continuing with Rishabh Pant as the skipper. For DC, the four retentions are reported to be Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje.

MS Dhoni himself had confirmed that he will be playing next season in Chennai. However, the Super Kings are reported to have confirmed that they will keep Ravindra Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. For the one overseas spot, there are talks going on between Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran.

Another big drop-off is likely to be premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya, as the Mumbai Indians have decided to retain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishan Kishan, along with Kieron Pollard.
