The social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has finally taken action against Virat Kohli’s complaint after 14 long years. The X (formerly Twitter) account of a user named Ishan has now been suspended by the platform over Virat Kohli’s complaint about his using abusive language.
It all began in 2011 when Ishan hurled foul language at a young Kohli on the platform. In response, Kohli messaged the troll, saying he had reported the account and that it would be banned soon. But despite the warning, the account stayed active for years.

Over time, Ishan continued to mock Kohli and even bragged that nothing had happened to his account. The user had posted on X in 2026: "Still I am on Twitter bro... 5... paanch saal ho gaye (it has been five years)." He said in another post in 2020: "10 saal hogaye Kohli bhai."

Virat Kohli Fans celebrate troll's suspension
While the exact date of suspension isn’t clear, the internet isn’t letting the moment go unnoticed and warned, “Never mess with King Kohli.” Screenshots of the suspension quickly went viral, and Kohli’s loyal fans erupted in celebration, calling it “karma served cold.”
Some even dug up Kohli’s old post, which still exists on the platform, saying it aged like fine wine. However, some fans questioned why it took X 14 years to take action against repeated abuse.
Notably, X can suspend a user’s account if they break the platform’s rules related to safety, privacy, or honesty.
All eyes on Virat Kohli's ODI return after Test retirement
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's sudden retirement from Test cricket remains a secret, but he will still be remembered as one of the greatest red-ball cricketers ever. In 123 test matches, the right-handed batter scored 9,230 runs with an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries.
As captain, Kohli took Team India to the No. 1 spot in Test rankings and also led them to the first-ever World Test Championship final. He already retired from T20I cricket last year after winning the T20 World Cup and now is only active in ODI cricket.
The former Indian skipper will be next seen in action in August if BCCI confirms the white-ball series against Bangladesh. India and Bangladesh are set to play three ODIs in August, and if not that, Kohli will certainly travel to Australia for the three-match ODI series in October this year.
India embarks on new journey in Tests
Well, apart from Kohli, Rohit Sharma also retired from Test cricket, and later the BCCI named Shubman Gill as India’s Test captain ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series in England, which is set to begin on June 20 in Leeds. Rishabh Pant was named India’s vice-captain in the format.
Now, Rohit and Virat will both be seen only in ODI actions. It is being speculated that they are aiming to stretch their ODI careers till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. However, Kohli’s fitness would certainly allow him to play in the ODI World Cup 2027, but selectors are reportedly not sure about Rohit.
