Virat Kohli's future with the Indian team looks highly uncertain as of now. Neither the BCCI nor the player himself has delivered any statement regarding his future.
The former India skipper has already retired from Tests and T20Is. He brought down curtains on his illustrious T20I career after India won the T20 World Cup last year, before announcing his Test retirement in May this year.
Lack of communication between Kohli and the Indian team management
While he is still a part of India's ODI setup, things could take a sharp turn in the coming days.
India's next ODI assignment is in Australia. The Men in Blue will be visiting Australia next month for three ODIs and five T20Is. And ahead of the tour, Virat Kohli's ODI future continues to be a mystery.
The veteran batsman last played for India during the victorious Champions Trophy campaign earlier this year, while his last appearance in competitive cricket came during the IPL.
Virat Kohli's future remains uncertain
While only time will tell how things unfold in the coming days, reports state that the India ODI setup could undergo a number of big changes in the coming days.
According to RevSportz, the selectors could sack Rohit Sharma as the ODI captain and replace him with Shubman Gill. The young batsman is already the captain of the Test side and could be given charge of the ODI team as well.
In another big development, Virat Kohli is likely to be dropped from the ODI squad for the upcoming tour of Australia.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar recently talked with Virat Kohli but things are still not very clear regarding the batsman's future in international cricket. The report stated that Kohli has asked for two weeks to take a call.
"Team Management had a word after chief selector spoke to virat & things can move quickly (time frame given by virat is two weeks away from here) Aus is 50/50 now," wrote RevSportz's Rohit Juglan on X.

Virat Kohli and Rohit to fade away after the Australia tour?
Speculations are rife that Virat Kohli as well as Rohit's career with the Indian team is over after both of them were not named in the India A squad for the upcoming 50-over series against Australia A.
Both the players have not played competitive cricket since the IPL and it was expected that they would be named in the India A squad so that they get some much-needed match practice ahead of the Australia tour.
