India captain Virat Kohli’s nine-month-old daughter, Vamika, has been given rape threats by online users following India’s loss to Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Tuesday issued a notice to Delhi Police demanding immediate action to be taken against the online perpetrators who have acted in this disgusting way.

Vamika was born on 11 January earlier this year as Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, became parents for the first time.

India lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets in their first game of the T20 World Cup 2021; this was also the first time Pakistan have defeated the Men In Blue in the World Cup history.

In the notice issued to the Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police Cyber Crime Branch, the DCW has demanded that immediate action be taken against the online troll

“It has been reported that online threats are being given to rape the nine months old girl child of Virat Kohli since the team’s defeat in the recent India Pakistan cricket match,” DCW stated, as reported by ANI.

In its notice, DCW asked for a copy of the FIR registered and the details of the accused identified and details of the action taken by the police in case the accused has not been arrested yet.

The notice has been undersigned by DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal who has demanded the abovementioned information latest by November 8.

Virat Kohli also attacked for speaking against the abusers of Shami

Before the game against New Zealand, Virat Kohli came out swinging at the “spineless” abusers of Mohammed Shami during the press conference. The senior pacer was subjected to plenty of abuses for his performance against Pakistan, and moreover, he was targeted for his religion.

The Indian captain called it a “pathetic” act by those who attacked Shami for his religion.

“It is learnt that he is being also attacked since he spoke against the incessant trolling of his teammate Md Shami who was targeted for his religion by online trolls,” the ANI report added.

Talking about the cricket field: India have lost both their games in the tournament and now their hopes of qualifying for the semifinals are hanging by a thread. They will next meet Afghanistan on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
