Virat Kohli's Statement Of Leaving Captaincy After The T20 World Cup Was Not Good, Shows There Is Pressure On You - Inzamam-ul-Haq

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq feels that Virat Kohli shouldn’t have announced his decision of stepping down as India’s T20I captain before the T20 World Cup.
Kohli relinquished his T20I captaincy at the conclusion of the tournament, from which India were eliminated at the group stage. He had announced this call even before the tournament, and that he’d stick with it irrespective of the outcome.
Inzamam-ul-Haq reckons this move indicated that there was pressure on Kohli’s captaincy heading into the T20 World Cup.

“I said this even before the match, that this statement of leaving captaincy after the tournament… it is not good. You have to play a big event and this shows that there is pressure on you and you are not comfortable,” Inzamam-ul-Haq said on ARY News.
Relations between Kohli, Shastri and board were not great: Inzamam-ul-Haq
While Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended and he was set to leave as the head coach, news reports confirmed that Rahul Dravid will replace Shastri.
Inzamam-ul-Haq believes that Kohli knew about Dravid being the next head coach may have damaged his relations with Shastri.

“They all knew that after this tournament, Shastri was to get replaced by Dravid. This should not happen before a big event. Your authority gets challenged. And this means that relations between Kohli, Shastri and board were not great. If India were to win the T20 World Cup, would they have removed the captain and coach? There was some problem between them,” the 51-year-old added.
India have failed to win any ICC trophy so far under the captaincy of Kohli.
