Hanuma Vihari, on Wednesday, showed a different facet of his personality by coming up with an epic reply on Twitter. The middle-order batsman is one of the most cool and calm players in the Indian team and rarely shows any emotion on the cricket field. But on Wednesday, he showed that he could come up with fitting replies when the need arises.

In a surprising tweet, Union Minister and an avid cricket fan Babul Supriyo recently criticised Hanuma Vihari’s epic knock in the third Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). While Hanuma Vihari was widely praised for his heroic knock that helped India snatch a draw from the jaws of the defeat, Supriyo was not impressed with the batsman’s slow approach.

Hanuma Vihari put up a brave fight to ensure India draw the game. What made his knock even more special was that he was suffering with a hamstring injury. The Andhra star batted for more than three hours and faced 161 balls while scoring 23 runs. But the runs did not matter as it was all about saving the game after India lost two well-set batsmen in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant in the second session.

Another wicket at that stage would have firmly put the game in the hosts’ favour. However, Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin put up a brave resistance and batted for more than three hours to pull off the famous draw. But Supriyo was not impressed with the effort and wanted Vihari to attack as he wrote:

“Playing 109 balls to score 7 !That is atrocious to say the least•Hanuma Bihari has not only killed any Chance for India to achieve a historic win but has also murdered Cricket.. not keeping win an option, even if remotely, is criminal.”

And on Wednesday, Vihari came up with an epic two-worded response for Supriyo and corrected a glaring mistake in his tweet. “*Hanuma Vihari,” he wrote replying to Supriyo.

His tweet went viral in no time and left the fans in splits. Former India opener Virender Sehwag was also impressed with the response from the batsman as he posted a screenshot of the same on his Twitter profile while writing:

“Apna Vihari, Sab par Bhaari.”
