Former Pakistan cricketer Wahab Riaz finally broke his silence after getting sacked as the selector of the Pakistan National Cricket Team. He said that he doesn't agree with the statements that are being circulated and he will be exposing everything.
As mentioned by the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi he will be undergoing surgery in the team, the first step was taken on Wednesday (10th July). Chief selector Wahab Riaz along with Abdul Razzaq were sacked from the selection committee.
This comes after Pakistan National Cricket Team's abysmal display in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Babar Azam-led side had a horrible outing with the bat and ball and faced a lot of criticism for their performances in the entire tournament, which was won by their rivals India National team.
Pakistan couldn't get going at all in the tournament as they faced a loss to the United States of America in the first game. That was rated the biggest upset in the history of the game. The match went to Super over and they went on to lose that, starting the tournament on a poor note.
After that, they faced another disappointing loss as they suffered a defeat against India. This hampered their chances to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the tournament as along with Men in Blue, it was the United States of America from the group who advanced further in the tournament.
Following that loss, there has been a lot going around in the Pakistan team. The PCB has been strict about the way the team performed and there were even reports that players will be facing salary cuts along with some other actions that will be taken over time.
As a first measure step, Pakistan Crickthe et Board sacked Wahab Riaz along with Abdul Razzaq. The Board released the official statement and confirmed that they have informed the duo that their services will not be needed anymore. The statement read:
"The Pakistan Cricket Board ... has notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee set up,"
I will be issuing my statement today evening - Wahab Riaz after getting sacked as the selector of Pakistan Cricket Team
After getting sacked as the selector of the Pakistan National Cricket Team, Wahab Riaz reacted in a cryptic way. He stated that one vote cannot dominate 6 and he will be issuing his full statement soon. He elaborated:
"I don’t agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee, how can 1 vote dominate 6? Everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes I will be issuing my statement today evening."

It remains to be see what statement Wahab Riaz will be coming up with. He was sixth chief selectors of the team in the last four years. The other five are Haroon Rashid, Shahid Afridi, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Wasim and Misbah-ul-Haq.
