The Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga delivered a perfect googly that completely fooled former Pakistan captain Babar Azam in the ongoing first ODI match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, November 11.
On the second delivery of the 24th over in Rawalpindi, Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a beautiful googly that pitched outside off and turned sharply back in. Babar Azam stepped forward to drive a full ball outside off, but a small gap between his bat and pad proved costly.

The ball spun sharply back in, sneaked through the gap, and crashed into the top of the off stump, leaving the bails flying and the crowd stunned. Babar Azam looked stunned as he walked back after scoring only 29 runs off 51 balls with the help of three boundaries against South Africa.
The Sri Lanka spinner celebrated the big wicket in his trademark style, while even the head coach, Sanath Jayasuriya, was seen applauding from the dugout. Amidst the celebration, Hasaranga reminded Babar Azam of his class.

We haven’t really mastered it yet in ODIs: Mike Hesson
Before the start of the first ODI in Rawalpindi, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson admitted that they haven’t been perfect, but he is happy that they won the ODI series against South Africa. He was also pleased with the team’s ability to perform at crucial moments but admitted there is still work to do, especially in the ODI cricket.
Mike Hesson was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz: “I think one-day cricket is something we haven’t really mastered over the last year or so. After the series wins in Australia and South Africa, we sort of went missing a bit. So, we’re back to being a bit more disciplined with the ball. From a batting point of view, it’s about taking a little more ownership. No, it’s very different in terms of T20 wickets. With the World Cup in mind, we’re happy to play on spinning surfaces. But in our bilateral ODIs, we’ll play on pitches that we think suit us. So, we’re back in Rawalpindi; you'll see the pitch today will obviously have a little more pace and bounce in it.”
