The India National Cricket Team batter Ishan Kishan has been in sensational form since his return to the Men in Blue. He is currently the No.1 T20I batter on a break from international cricket, and off the field, he is working as the Assistant Manager at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) office. He was spotted working right after the Zimbabwe series.
Ishan Kishan was part of the Men in Blue in the Ireland T20Is and England T20Is, ODIs, and also in the Zimbabwe T20Is. He had a tough series against England and Ireland. But came back strong against the Chevrons, scoring one fifty in the series. He will next be seen in the white-ball series against the West Indies.

Ishan Kishan was appointed in the position in Patna through sports quota, and thus he returned to his official responsibilities at the RBI office, as he has not been part of the Test squad, so he has been doing his job.

Ishan Kishan set to feature in Duleep Trophy
The Southpaw will be in action in the Duleep Trophy as he has been appointed as the captain for the East Zone, and he previously led Jharkhand to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title. He scored a hundred in the final.
East Zone is set to play against North East Zone in the quarterfinal at the BCCI COE Ground 2 in Bengaluru on Sunday, August 23. Apart from Kishan, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also in the squad as he has been named the vice-captain of the side. They will look to win the match and qualify for the semi-final.
Ishan Kishan's recent form
Ishan Kishan, since his return to the side, has been scoring runs in the white-ball formats. He had a terrific ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and finished as the second-highest run-getter for Team India, and overall fourth-highest with 317 runs scored with three fifties in the tournament.
In 2026 so far, he has scored 812 runs with an average of over 35 and a strike rate of over 175. For his exceptional performances this year, he jumped to the No.1 T20I batter, overtaking his team India teammate Abhishek Sharma, and has 910 points.
For his excellent performance in the shortest format, he was added to the ODI format as well, and he was rewarded with that by scoring a hundred against Afghanistan; in five matches, he has scored 175 runs with an average of 43.50 and a blistering strike rate of 143.80.
Kishan will look to continue his form even in the Duleep Trophy so that he gets a call in the Test side as well, as he last played a Test match in the West Indies three years back when Rohit Sharma was the skipper, scoring 78 runs in the three innings he batted.
