The India National Cricket Team has been contesting against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the 2nd Test match at Colombo. In the Test match for the Men in Blue, Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal scored centuries respectively. After their innings, former South Africa National Cricket Team captain AB de Villiers praised both batters.
India are in an advantageous situation with four wickets left to pick against Sri Lanka as they have been provided with a follow-on, and are currently 16 runs ahead with a day’s play. Only rain can save the Lankan Lions as a whitewash is on the cards for Dhanajaya de Silva’s side, as Sri Lanka’s only hope is Sonal Dinusha, who is unbeaten.

AB de Villiers, while speaking on his YouTube channel, praised Dhruv Jurel’s technique, calling it better than any other batter apart from KL Rahul. He believes that Jurel has been a fantastic batter who can have a good future in Test cricket. Jurel played a knock of 115* runs and helped India go past the 500-run mark.
"Dhruv Jurel stood out with a fine century. He's got a really good technique, second to KL Rahul. I think Jurel is another Indian batter with good technique that can last for a long time. He chipped in with a fantastic century in the middle order and maintained the momentum that they needed," he said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Except for praising Dhruv Jurel, AB de Villiers mentioned the performance of Devdutt Padikkal, who has been exceptional from the very start of the series. In the second Test, he also scored a hundred and anchored the innings when needed. Padikkal’s former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) teammate feels that the Southpaw should get a long run at No.3 for the Men in Blue.
"I think Padikkal has done enough to at least get an extended run. See what he's like over in South Africa, England, and some of the bouncier tracks in Australia. I think he has earned the right to get that challenge as the number three batter in all conditions, and I do think he has got the game to counter whatever comes his way."

Jurel, in the first Test first innings, scored a fiery fifty and helped the Men in Blue to get runs quickly. He was good in the 2nd Test match as he was calm and composed and scored his second Test hundred, and soon after his hundred, he took charge and scored some runs quickly.
On the other hand, Devdutt Padikkal, who was not supposed to feature in the series, got his chance as Sai Sudharsan was ruled out. Ahead of the start, he scored 142 runs in the warm-up game and followed that by a brilliant 167-run innings in the first Test match at Galle.
Now, in the second game, he also played a knock of 117 runs, once again helping his side to have control over the Test match in Colombo.
