Waqar Salamkheil goes unsold at IPL Auction 2025

Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 75 lakhs. The 23-year-old is a left-arm spinner and is yet to make his debut in the IPL.

He has represented Afghanistan in one Test so far but has yet to play for them in a limited-overs format. However, Waqar has ample experience in T20 cricket. He has played in T20 leagues around the world.

The Afghan spinner has plied his trade in the Caribbean Premier League, Major League Cricket, Pakistan Super League, International League T20, SA20, Lanka Premier League and several other leagues.

Overall, Salamkheil has played 57 T20s so far and has picked up 80 wickets with the help of three four-wicket hauls. He has an economy rate of less than 8 in the shortest format of the game.
