Was Virat Kohli called 'Chokli' by a fan? Real video emerges exposing fake narrative

India batting superstar Virat Kohli is currently in Sri Lanka, preparing for the upcoming three-match ODI series. The much-awaited series is scheduled to be played from August 2, with all the games due to take place in Colombo.

A couple of days before the first game, a video of Virat Kohli being called 'Chokli' by one individual went viral on social media. In the video, the former India skipper was busy doing shadow practice when someone called him 'Chokli'. Virat Kohli immediately turned back and his reaction made it very clear that he was not pleased at all with the use of that term. He was also heard saying, 'Not here'.

For those who don't know, 'Chokli' is a derogatory term that is often used by the trolls to target the batting stalwart. The term is a mix of Kohli and Choker and the trolls use it to take shots at the right-handed batsman whenever he fails to score big, especially in big games.

The video went viral on social media in no time, leaving the fans absolutely stunned. However, another video has now started doing the rounds and it shows that the earlier video was edited. In the latest clip, the fan could be heard asking Kohli for an autograph and the veteran batsman responded by saying 'not here'.

Virat Kohli's much-awaited return:

Virat Kohli is currently gearing up to make his much-awaited return to ODI cricket. The batting star has not played an ODI since the World Cup final in November last year. He was not a part of the ODI series against South Africa in December last year and India has not played any ODI since then.

Both Kohli and Team India will be looking to come up with a good performance in the upcoming series. Last month, Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is after the World Cup win and will be looking to hit the ground running in the 50-over format.
