Naman Dhir suffered massive injury scare in 2nd ODI vs West Indies
Naman Dhir had earlier raised concerns during the second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati after he walked off the field while bowling.
Dhir had stepped up with the ball after Prasidh Krishna suffered a hamstring injury and was able to bowl 6.1 overs. He had initially twisted his ankle but later received attention before leaving the field.
India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, however, played down the concern after the match. He clarified that Dhir was dealing with cramps rather than a serious ankle injury and confirmed that the all-rounder was doing fine.
Naman Dhir's workload increased considerably because of Prasidh's injury, but he managed to complete his additional bowling responsibility. His availability for the T20I series has now been confirmed through his inclusion in the updated squad.
India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series. In the first ODI, India chased down West Indies' 295/7 with eight wickets in hand, with Shubman Gill scoring 110 and Virat Kohli remaining unbeaten on 139. Kuldeep Yadav also picked up four wickets.
