The ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand may have been hampered due to persistent rain at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton but that has not dampened the spirit of cricket fans on Twitter.

While the rain continues to fall down in Southampton, Twitter has been flooded with hilarious memes.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer, who has carved a niche for himself on Twitter via his witty memes, was once again at it as he used the famous Arnab Goswami catchphrase- “The nation wants to Know”- to enquire from his former opening partner-turned commentator Dinesh Karthik about the chances of the game starting in Southampton today.

Dinesh Karthik chose to reply with a hilarious meme of his own, suggesting that the chances of the game taking place today are close to impossible.

Not the one to back down, Jaffer replied with another meme, where he asked DK to keep giving updates about the weather.

For the uninitiated,  the opening pair of Dinesh Karthik and Wasim Jaffer played a pivotal role in India winning its first Test series in England since 1986 way back in 2007.

Meanwhile, the chances 0f the WTC final commencing on Friday look extremely slim. That said, the rain has stopped as of now and the covers are being taken off.

But given the fact that more rain is expected in the coming hours, it will be nothing short of a miracle if the game starts today.
