Former Indian Opener Wasim Jaffer has requested parents not to promote or encourage any sorts of age fraud to make them play in the various age categories despite the eligibility. Most players during their school-age will be pushed to fall into the trap of fudging birth certificates that will allow them to take part for an extra year in the age category tournaments.

The inter-school competitions have been stopped in all areas of the country due to the pandemic and the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) who conducts these tournaments in Mumbai city have been in touch with the children to keep motivating them. A lot of cricketers have gone on to play for the country from the tournaments like Harris Shield and Giles Shield and it is one of the biggest platforms for the Mumbai Youngsters as pointed out by Wasim Jaffer.
