While Wasim Jaffer’s hilarious meme-inspired memes are being appreciated by most of the fans on Twitter, one fan lashed out at him on Saturday following India’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Australia in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval. The fan mistook Wasim Jaffer for India’s batting coach and slammed him.

The Indian players and the team-management were facing severe criticism after Australia bowled out India for a paltry 36, their lowest total in Tests. India’s previous lowest total was 42 which came against England way back in 1974.

Australia went on to win the game by 8 wickets after India could manage to give only a 90-run target. Starting the day on 9 for 1 after taking a handy lead of 53 runs in the first innings, India’s batsmen proved no match for Australia’s pacers. Not a single batsman managed to touch the double-digit mark as Mayank Agarwal’s 9 was the highest score.

Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were the architects of India’s demolition. Hazlewood picked up 5 wickets while giving away just 8 runs while Cummins accounted for 4 wickets. India’s innings ended when Mohammed Shami was retired hurt after coping a blow on his forearm. In reply, Australia crossed the line in 21 overs while losing 2 wickets.

While most of the fans were slamming the Indian batsmen and the team-management for the debacle, one fan took shots at Wasim Jaffer. The fan declared Wasim Jaffer as India’s batting coach and accused him of just making memes.

“When the batting coach is busy making memes, what can be expected from the batsmen,” the fan wrote.

Notably, former India opener Vikram Rathour is the batting coach of India’s senior men’s cricket team, while Wasim Jaffer coaches Uttarakhand and IPL team Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Wasim Jaffer noticed the tweet and was quick to respond to it. The former India opener, who is one of the most decorated batsmen of India’s domestic cricket, politely reminded the fan that he is not the batting coach of India, tweeting:
