Travis Head continued his devastating form in his first match of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. The left-handed opener was at his brutal best as he tore apart RR's Jofra Archer during the first innings of the match.
Head smashed 4 fours and 1 six during the over which went for 23 runs. It was an exhilarating batting performance from the Australian as he looked to smash every ball to the boundary without looking at the reputation of the bowler.

Jofra Archer came into the attack on the fifth over of the match as the match seemed to go away from Rajasthan Royals, courtesy of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The first ball of the over was flicked over square leg by Head.
Archer bowled a pacy short of a length ball next but was absolutely smashed over deep square leg for a massive six. Head was standing outside leg stump and just swung his bat perfectly for a cracking six which was measured to be 105 m long.

Archer went around the wicket in the next delivery and was successful in sneaking out a dot ball as Head looked for a swipe across the line but was beaten. It was a well-disguised slower ball from the fast bowler as the batter was completely beaten.
Three fours in a row
But Travis Head didn't stop here and slammed a four off the next ball bisecting cover point and extra cover. It was a wide delivery from Archer and head wasn't going to leave this opportunity.
The next delivery was wide as the umpire felt that the ball was over the batter's head. Archer bowled a shortish delivery next but Head was ready for that and thrashed it away over mid-off for another boundary.
Archer tried to compensate in the last ball of the over and bowled a good length ball from around the wicket towards the stumps. But Head kept his front leg out of the way to slap another four down the ground.
It was a brilliant display of batting from Head as Archer had no answers to him. The over went for 23 runs and it took SRH to 78-1 in 5 overs. Travis Head was finally dismissed for 67 off just 31 balls. He struck 9 fours and 3 sixes during his knock.
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer had a poor day in the office as he returned with figures of 4-0-76-0. He was seen as RR's go-to bowler on the day but turned out to be the most expensive one.
SRH record the second-highest IPL total
Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to score 286-6 in 20 overs. They just missed out on breaking their own record of 287-3 that they scored against RCB in Bengaluru last year. But it is the second-highest team total in the history of IPL.
Ishan Kishan slammed a magnificent hundred on his SRH debut and finished unbeaten on 106 off 47 balls. The left-hander smashed 11 fours and 6 sixes during his knock. The other batters also made valuable contributions as SRH put in a commanding batting display.
