Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has taken yet another sharp dig at MS Dhoni after the Chennai Super Kings’ another humiliating defeat in the ongoing IPL 2025. And this time, Aakash Chopra joined Virender Sehwag in trolling MS Dhoni on live TV.

On Friday, April 11, Chennai Super Kings suffered yet another embarrassing defeat in the ongoing IPL 2025 and found themselves in deep trouble.

Facing the Kolkata Knight Riders' bowling attack at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, CSK players embarrassed themselves and made a mockery of the team and fans with their disastrous performance in the 25th game of this season.

CSK suffers embarrassing defeat against KKR at Chepauk

CSK could only breach the three-figure mark on the back of some resistance from Shivam Dube (31*) and Vijay Shankar (29), while the rest of the lineup was a big flop, and the most bizarre part of their batting was Rahul Tripathi, who faced 22 balls only to be clean bowled by Sunil Narine.

Chennai Super Kings struggled right from the start. They scored just 31 runs during the powerplay, and things only got worse as wickets kept falling. KKR’s spinners, Sunil Narine with 3 for 13 and Varun Chakaravarthy with 2 for 18, completely dominated the game.

Young fast bowler Harshit Rana also chipped in with two crucial wickets, adding to CSK’s troubles. MS Dhoni came in to bat at number 9 but could only score one run from four balls before getting out LBW to Sunil Narine in the 16th over, and the Chepauk crowd suddenly fell silent.

Chasing the paltry target, KKR finished the match in just 10.1 overs. Sunil Narine led the charge with a fiery knock of 44 runs from only 18 balls, hitting five big sixes along the way. At the end, Rinku Singh sealed the game in style by smashing a huge six off Ravindra Jadeja.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag has taken a brutal dig at Dhoni for his ongoing struggle against Narine in the IPL after the CSK skipper fell cheaply once again to the mystery spinner.

Sehwag pointed out how Narine has been consistently dismissing some of the biggest names in the game who are known for their reputation but have struggled to make an impact with the bat this season. It wasn’t just praise for Narine, but was also a clever jab at the CSK stars and the spinner, too.

Sehwag said while commentating in the CSK vs KKR match, “Sunil Narine has dismissed only the strongest batters. Tripathi, MS Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja. He has dismissed all three of them. I don't think MS even hit a six against Narine. Akash, you know the stats better than me.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Aakash Chopra backed the point with a subtle reminder of how long it’s been since Dhoni even managed a boundary against Narine in the commentary box.

Aakash Chopra said, “I think he (MSD) didn't even hit a four against Narine for a long time.”

Well, after losing five matches in a row, CSK now has only 2 points from 6 games. They are currently in 9th place on the IPL 2025 points table, just above Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
