SRH return to winning ways:
Meanwhile, SRH returned to winning ways in style in the ongoing IPL 2025 as they thrashed high-flying Punjab Kings by eight wickets in a high-scoring game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad last week.
The Hyderabad-based outfit started its campaign with a solid 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals before losing four games in a row. They finally registered their second win of the season by beating Punjab Kings.
Batting first, Punjab Kings posted a mammoth total of 245/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer once again led from the front, smashing 82 runs. SRH were looking destined to suffer yet another loss but Abhishek Sharma had other plans.
The SRH opener roared back to form with a scintillating century to power his side to a much-needed win. Sharma smashed 141 runs off just 55 balls with the help of 14 fours and 10 sixes. His opening partner Travis Head impressed with the bat as well, scoring 66 runs off 37 balls.
Thanks to Sharma's whirlwind knock, the Pat Cummins-led side chased down 246 runs in just 18.3 overs. Their next game is against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 17). The momentum is finally with SRH and they will look to register another victory in order to bring their campaign on track.
