The 27-year-old Pakistan National Cricket leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed gave a cheap send-off to the premier Sri Lanka National Cricket Team spin-bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga after dismissing him.

Abrar Ahmed rattled the stumps of Wanindu Hasaranga and was seen mimicking the celebration that the Sri Lankan performs after taking wickets.

He once again looked threatening with the ball in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka. Team Pakistan and Team Sri Lanka are taking on each other in a do-or-die match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. This is because both teams lost their first game in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four round.

Coming back to Abrar Ahmed, he bowled four overs against Sri Lanka, in which he just conceded 8 runs and took the wicket of Wanindu Hasaranga.

On the first ball of the 13th over, Abrar bowled a googly to Wanindu Hasaranga, who was unable to read it. The Sri Lankan went for a slog sweep, got beaten, and his stumps were rattled.

After taking the wicket, Abrar did the clown act as he replicated the celebration that Wanindu Hasaranga usually performs by taking inspiration from the famous footballer Neymar. Hasaranga, however, just ignored the cheap send-off from the Pakistani and walked back after scoring 15 runs off 13 balls.

We don’t think about the past, just need to focus on today - Salman Agha

Speaking earlier at the toss, the Pakistan skipper, Salman Agha, said that Sri Lanka are a good side and they would want to perform well against them. He said:

"We will bowl first. Looks a good wicket, don't think it will change much. I think we started well (against India), but then the tempo shifted.. They are a good side, we’re a good side. We don’t think about the past, just need to focus on today. We have an unchanged side."

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka stated they don't mind batting first and emphasised they have been playing good cricket. He said:

"I would have done the same thing. It looks a good pitch, don't mind batting first. We are playing good cricket, we need to improve in a few areas. Batting and bowling at the death. There are two changes. Theekshana and Karunaratne are in. We thought that we might need one extra bowler, that's why we have brought in a bowler who can bat."
