Aiden Markram, on Thursday (May 22), took a brilliant diving catch to send back Sai Sudharsan during the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Given the kind of form Sudharsan is in, Lucknow Super Giants needed something special to get rid of him and Markram provided that moment of brilliance.
Sai Sudharsan got off to a flying start

On the third ball of the over, Sai Sudharsan drove the ball towards mid-off and failed to keep his shot grounded. However, it looked like he would be safe as the ball was falling well in front of Markram. However, the South Africa star put in a brilliant dive forward to catch the ball just inches above the ground.

While Sudharsan failed to score big in the ongoing game, he has been in stunning form this season. In the last game against Delhi Capitals, the opening batsman scored an unbeaten century to help his side chase down 200 runs with ease.
During the same match, he also became the first batsman this season to reach the 600-run mark. He is still leading the race for the Orange Cap. In 13 games so far, Sudharsan has scored 632 runs with the help of a century and 5 fifties.
Talking about the game, Gujarat Titans were on 51/1 in the 6th over at the time of writing this report. With the in-form Sudharsan gone, the Titans need a herculean effort from their other batters to chase down the big total.
The IPL 2022 winners will be desperate to win the ongoing game to bolster their chances of finishing in the top two. They are currently at the top spot in the points table with 18 points from 12 games.
LSG finished on a high
Earlier in the game, Lucknow Super Giants finished their innings with a commanding total of 235/2. Mitchell Marsh starred with the bat for the Lucknow-based outfit as he scored his maiden IPL century. The right-handed batsman scored 117 runs off just 64 balls in addition to sharing big partnerships with Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran.
Marsh and Markram added 91 runs for the opening wicket before the former and Pooran shared a 121-run stand for the second wicket. Pooran impressed with the bat as well, scoring an unbeaten 56 off 27 balls while Markram scored 36 off 24.
