Anshul Kamboj gets a big breakthrough in Manchester

Kamboj made his Test debut for the India National Cricket Team in the fourth game of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team.

He made it to the India Test playing XI on the back of sensational performances in domestic cricket. Kamboj was brought into the squad after injuries to Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, and was instantly handed a debut cap by Deep Dasgupta ahead of the start of the Manchester Test

Anshul Kamboj, who has a 10-wicket haul in an innings in First-class cricket, has got a very cool jersey. He has the initials of his name - AK - on the back, along with the number 47.

The Haryana pacer is rated highly by the team management, and he was handed the new ball along with Jasprit Bumrah. He was unable to bowl in the right lines and lengths initially, but after some time, he started bowling brilliantly.

AK47's first bullet hit Ben Duckett, who was nearing his century, and left him 6 runs short of a well-deserved hundred. On the first ball of the 39th over, Kamboj bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Ben Duckett outside off-stump.

Ben Duckett went for a cut, but was surprised by extra bounce and ended up nicking it through to the Indian keeper Dhruv Jurel. As Kamboj got his maiden Test wicket, he celebrated with a wild roar while the English opener was totally devastated after falling for 94 runs off 100 balls, with 13 fours.

Nasser Hussain slams India's Anshul Kamboj move

Speaking on Sky Sports during the Tea break on Day 2, former England skipper Nasser Hussain slammed the Indian team for giving the new ball to Anshul Kamboj over Mohammed Siraj. He elaborated:

"Slightly changing conditions, but they bowl really poorly. Changing overhead conditions doesn't make you bowl both sides of the wicket. As Ricky said, too many balls on the pads, not enough in that channel. Captain's decisions I didn't quite agree with to be honest. Kamboj wasn't in the squad a week ago, he wasn't in the team. To bring him into the squad, bring him into the team and give him the new ball ahead of Siraj seems odd."

"I would have gone Siraj for a short burst that end and then switch him to this end to follow Bumrah because we've been talking about that green channel and that strip across. This is the end the seam has probably won to bowl. This is the end that Stokes has bowled and got his viper and got the uneven bounce and a bit of sideways movement.

"So everything that could possibly go wrong in 14 overs has done. And those runs, you know, Rishabh Pant has gone out there on one leg and gotten valuable runs today in a partnership with others. They've just handed those runs back to England. You have to say the way they bat do put opposition bowlers under pressure by showing the intent."
