India pacer Akash Deep won the hearts of the fans with his incredible gesture during Day 1 of the ongoing fifth Test against England. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Akash Deep was dropped from the Indian XI for the ongoing fifth game. The fast bowler made way for Jasprit Bumrah, who made a return after being rested for the fourth Test. Even though he wasn’t playing, Akash made sure that he grabbed the limelight for his gesture.

During Day 1 of the game, Akash Deep, who was walking on the sidelines of the boundary ropes with drinks in his hand, was asked by fans for water. The fast bowler, however, didn’t think once and threw the bottle towards the fans.

Coming to the ongoing Test match between India and England in Dharamsala, the Day 1 of the game was bossed by the hosts. The Ben Stokes-led won the toss and was put into the bat first. They were tested a lot by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who swung the ball pretty well.

But openers Zak Crawley (79) and Ben Duckett (27) negotiated the tricky phase well and added 64 runs for the opening stand. It seemed that England would get the score on the board. But with the way Indian spinners pulled things back incredibly well.

Kuldeep Yadav picked a fifer and broke the backbone of the England batting lineup before Ravichandran Ashwin wrapped up the tail with his four-wicket haul. India bundled out the opposition for just 218 runs and then had a staggering outing with the bat as well.

Yashavi Jaiswal (57) and Rohit Sharma (52*) slammed magnificent half-centuries and added 104 runs opening partnership. Shubman Gill (26*) looked solid at the crease as India ended Day 1 on high. The hosts were 135-1 and were 83 runs behind England’s total.
