India and Pakistan are currently playing against each other in the seventh match of the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in UAE.

Players hardly get the chance to relax during an India vs Pakistan game. There is hardly any light-hearted moment whenever the arch-rivals lock horns against each other on the cricket field. However, Pakistan allrounder Aliya Riaz managed to enjoy a light-hearted moment during the T20 World Cup clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The incident took place in the seventh over of Pakistan's innings. Pakistan opener Muneeba Ali was facing Arundhati Reddy. After Pakistan managed to score only 29 runs in the powerplay, Muneeb tried to accelerate the run rate by going for a ramp shot against a full delivery outside the off stump.

However, she ended up miscuing the delivery straight towards Asha Sobhana at short leg. It was an extremely easy catch but Asha Sobhana ended up making a mess of the chance. While she got her hands on the ball, she could not hold on to it and ended up spilling it to give Muneeba a reprieve.

Asha Sobhana was understandably disappointed over dropping the catch. However, Aliya Riaz saw the funny side of the dropped catch. The cameras caught Aliya Riaz laughing at the dropped catch. At first, she could not believe that Asha Sobhana had dropped the catch before covering her face to have a laugh.

Watch Aliya Riaz's reaction to Asha Sobhana's dropped catch:

Fortunately for India and Asha, the dropped catch did not prove costly. Muneeba, who was batting on 14 when she was dropped by Asha, could score only 3 more runs before being dismissed by Shreyanka Patil. She departed after scoring 17 runs off 26 balls.

While Asha had a forgettable moment on the field, she had a decent outing with the ball. She conceded 24 runs in her four overs and picked up one wicket. Asha dismissed the Pakistan captain Fatima Sana for 13.

Meanwhile, India managed to restrict Pakistan to a modest total of 105/8. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will be desperate to chase down the total and open its account in the competition. Earlier in the tournament, India began their campaign with a 58-run loss against New Zealand.

On the other hand, Pakistan began their campaign with a 31-run win over Sri Lanka. They had defended a modest total of 116 runs against Sri Lanka and will be looking to come up with a similar performance against India as well. At the time of writing this report, India were on 16/0 in the fourth over.
