Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was visibly frustrated after failing to connect a big shot during the opening session of Day 3 in the third Test. Pant screamed in disappointment after missing the delivery of pacer Chris Woakes at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Saturday, July 12.
Pant sustained the injury while keeping wickets during the second session on Day 1 of the third Test. The 27-year-old had to leave the field, with Dhruv Jurel taking over wicketkeeping duties for the remainder of the innings. Despite the discomfort, Pant came out to bat at No. 5 after India lost three wickets.

The incident took place on the first delivery of the 51st over during India’s first innings. Chris Woakes bowled a delivery with some width, which Rishabh Pant attempted to cut aggressively.
However, he hit it straight to the fielder at cover, missing out on a scoring opportunity. The left-handed batter was frustrated with himself and reacted visibly after the mistimed shot.

India Begin Day 3 of Third Test on a Positive Note Without Losing Wicket in First Hour
India began Day 3 of the third Test on a positive note, with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul showing calm and control in the morning session. On the very first ball of the day, Pant glanced it fine for four. A few balls later, he stepped out and sent the ball through deep cover for another boundary.
At the time of writing, the visitors were 206/3 after 58 overs, with Rahul unbeaten on 83 and Pant on 48, trailing by 181 runs.
Earlier, England opted to bat first and posted a total of 387, anchored by Joe Root’s patient 104. Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) chipped in with crucial runs lower down the order. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India, claiming his 15th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.
Rishabh Pant Has Been in Fine Form in Ongoing ENG-IND Test Series
Rishabh Pant has been one of India’s best performers in the ongoing Test series against England. He scored 134 and 118 in the opening Test at Headingley, where India suffered a five-wicket defeat.
The southpaw became only the second wicketkeeper after Andy Flower to register twin centuries in a single Test. India bounced back in the second Test at Edgbaston. THe Shubman Gill-led team secured a 336-run victory, with Pant playing crucial knocks of 25 and 65.
Ahead of Day 3 of the ongoing match, Pant has amassed 361 runs in five innings at an impressive average of 90.25, including two centuries and a fifty.
