Team India cricketers Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan faced backlash after a Snapchat interaction in which their comments targeted teammate Sai Sudharsan. During the viral video, Singh and Kishan made repeated jokes about Sudharsan’s complexion and facial features, including remarks about his lips.

Arshdeep Singh has been included in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Singh will be one of the three main pacers alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana, while Ishan Kishan and Sai Sudharsan have not been selected in the 15-member squad.

During the Snapchat interaction, Arshdeep Singh welcomed Ishan Kishan by calling him “the pride of Bihar,” but the conversation quickly turned toward Sai Sudharsan.

Kishan jokingly referred to Sudharsan as the “king of Tamil Nadu,” while Singh made comments about the camera and Sudharsan’s appearance.

The duo continued the exchange by mocking Sudharsan’s lips and complexion, prompting laughter from Kishan. However, the video drew criticism for the racially insensitive undertone of their remarks.

"Aaj hum welcome karne jaa rahe hai apne Snapchat ke page pe. Bihar ki aan baan aur shaan, Ishan Kishan (Today we are going to welcome on our Snapchat page, the pride and honor of Bihar, Ishan Kishan)," Singh said.

"Hi guys, Tamil Nadu king bhi dikha (Hi guys, also show the king of Tamil Nadu)," Kishan replied.

"Camera piche se ganda hai. Camera saaf ni tha, Sai toh smart hai (The camera is dirty from the back. The camera wasn’t clean, Sai is smart though)," Arshdeep added.

"Lips kaha hai (Where are the lips?)," Kishan stated.

"Lips ni dikh rhe (The lips are not visible)," Arshdeep said.

Arshdeep Singh Missed Debut in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 Against England

Arshdeep Singh was expected to make his debut during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were the sure starters, and Prasidh Krishna was preferred ahead of Arshdeep for the three Tests.

The left-arm pacer also suffered an injury before the Manchester match. He was ruled out of the fourth Test but remained on the bench for the fifth and final Test.

Arshdeep has played 21 first-class matches, picking up 66 wickets at an average of 30.37, including two five-wicket hauls. While he has struggled to make it into the Test side, Arshdeep has cemented his place in T20Is, where he is India’s leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game.

India Name 15-Player Squad for 2025 Asia Cup, Suryakumar Yadav to Lead

India, the defending champions, recently named their 15-player squad for the 2025 Asia Cup in the UAE, with Suryakumar Yadav set to lead the team. The Men in Blue will compete for their ninth title in the marquee tournament.

The tournament will begin on September 9, with India opening their campaign against the UAE on September 10 in Dubai. They will play their next clashes against Pakistan on September 14 and Oman on September 19, respectively. India will play their first two matches in Dubai before moving to Abu Dhabi.

Following the group stage, the Super 4 round is scheduled from September 20 to 26 across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The final will take place on September 28 in Dubai.
