Ayush Mhatre Shines Before Falling for 34; CSK Off to a Flying Start
However, Ayush Mhatre couldn’t capitalize on his fiery start and was dismissed for 34 off just 17 deliveries, which included three fours and three sixes. Prasidh Krishna, who is the current Purple Cap holder, ended the opening stand in his very first over.
At the time of filing this report, Chennai Super Kings were 82/1 at the end of seven overs, with Urvil Patel (20 off 12) and Devon Conway (18 off 13) at the crease.
Mhatre was brought into the CSK squad mid-season as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad. Before this game, he had scored 206 runs in six innings at an average of 34.33 and a strike rate of 187.27, with a top score of 94. CSK have discovered a promising long-term opener.
