Vaibhav Suryavanshi fails in his second IPL outing as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismisses him

Suryavanshi made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 19.

He announced his arrival in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in style by smashing a first-ball six. The batter kept playing an attacking brand of cricket in his first IPL game and finished his innings with a score of 34 runs off 20 balls, with 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Meanwhile, in his second outing in the Indian Premier League, Vaibhav Suryavanshi failed to play a good innings. Although he smashed two sixes during his 12-ball stay in the middle, he didn't look comfortable while facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers.

On the first ball of the 5th over, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a six off the veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, the pacer took instant revenge by dismissing him on the very next ball.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a length ball towards the stumps, and the youngster wildly swung his bat intending to get a boundary, but he missed it completely, and his stumps were rattled for 16 runs.

RCB beat RR to win the first home game

Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally registered their first win at home by beating Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs, as after posting 205/5 on the board, they restricted Riyan Parag-led team to 194/9.

Speaking ahead of the match, Jitesh Sharma hailed Rajat Patidar's captaincy and said that he is quite simple and approachable.

“Rajat is a very simple person. He’s easy to talk to—you wouldn’t even notice him in the dressing room. It’s only when we step on the field that you realize he’s the captain. That’s just his personality—calm and composed under pressure. He can assess situations from multiple angles. As a wicketkeeper, whenever I go up to him with suggestions, he engages right away, asking questions like, ‘What can we do if this happens?’ It shows how calm and in control he is. That’s one big reason behind his current success," Jitesh said.

Jitesh Sharma further said that the presence of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik in the RCB dugout has been quite beneficial for him. He elaborated:

“I think I’ve finally found someone I can truly work with—someone I can learn from, someone who matches my wavelength, and I match his. Someone who is just like me. And that someone is DK Anna (Dinesh Karthik). He is one of the biggest reasons I feel settled. He has played the same role for the Indian team and in the IPL too. I’m very comfortable talking to him. He understands my feelings and my game, and I understand what he’s trying to convey. He has performed under pressure and knows what kind of risks are involved in key moments."
