Zimbabwe batsman Brian Bennett was out in a dramatic fashion in the ongoing first T20I against India at the Harare Sports Club.

The incident took place in the final over of the powerplay when India captain Shubman Gill introduced Ravi Bishnoi into the attack. Before that over, Bennett had enjoyed a fine outing and was batting on 23 runs of 14 balls. He walked out to bat in the second over after Mukesh Kumar dismissed opener Innocent Kaia for a golden duck.

Bennett started positively and hit five boundaries in no time. However, he could not convert his start into a big score as Ravi Bishnoi dismissed him on the very first ball of his spell. On the first ball of the sixth over, the India leg-spinner bamboozled Bennett with his trademark googly. And while the right-handed batsman had to leave the field after the dismissal, it was not before some drama.

After Bennett was completely beaten by the googly, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel appealed for a caught behind although Bishnoi was not confident. The on-field umpire was not convinced and the decision was soon referred upstairs as the bails were lying on the field.

The replays then showed that Bennett was actually bowled as the ball had brushed the off stump. The drama did not end there. The third umpire surprisingly flashed not out on the giant screen before correcting his mistake quickly.

Watch Brian Bennett's dramatic dismissal:

Talking about the game, Zimbabwe finished their innings on a modest total of 115 for 9 after being asked to bat first. Clive Madande top-scored for the hosts, scoring an unbeaten 29 as no Zimbabwe batter managed to touch the 30-run mark.

At one stage, the hosts were reeling at 90 for 9 but eventually managed to post a 100-plus total thanks to Madande's unbeaten knock. For India, Bishnoi starred with the ball, taking 4 for 13 off 4 overs including two maidens.
