Australian opening batter Cameron Bancroft pulled off one of the best slip catches during the four-day match between the Prime Minister’s XI and Pakistan. Cameron Bancroft took a one-handed catch to dismiss Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf on the opening day.
Pakistan is currently engaged in their first match as part of their preparations for the upcoming three-match Test series in Australia. The practice match serves as a crucial warm-up for the visitors ahead of the first Test, scheduled to commence on December 14 in Perth.

Nathan McAndrew claimed Faheem Ashraf’s wicket on the fourth ball of the 90th over on Day 1. Faheem edged the ball on defense, and it flew low between the wicketkeeper and the first slip. Bancroft dove to his right and grabbed it centimeters above the ground.

Imam-ul-Haq scored just 9 runs off 24 deliveries, while Babar Azam contributed 40 runs off 88 balls. Sarfaraz Ahmed played a quickfire innings, scoring 41 runs. Young off-spinner Todd Murphy (1-90) was targeted by Masood but managed to claim the wicket of Saud Shakeel.
The Shan Masood-led Pakistan team posted 324 runs for the loss of six wickets before stumps on Day 1. Shan Masood kicked off the tour with a brilliant hundred, scoring 156 runs off 235 balls. The southpaw remained unbeaten at the end of the day’s play in Canberra.

Pakistan maintained the same top six players from their last Test in their current lineup, with Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad, both uncapped, given the opportunity to showcase their talent. Notably, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been rested for the game.
