Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who is among the tallest cricketers of the current time, grabbed a stunner at gully during the second AUS vs WI Test match in Brisbane. On the second ball of the 53rd over of West Indies’ second innings, Joshua Da Silva tried to drive a half volley by pacer Mitchell Starc. However, the ball took a thick edge of Da Silva’s bat, and Green first jumped and then took the catch on the second attempt with one hand, while diving to his right.

Joshua Da Silva, who was West Indies’ highest run scorer in the first innings was dismissed for 7 runs and Mitchell Starc picked up his first wicket of the second innings. After Da Silva was dismissed, West Indies lost their sixth wicket for the score of 157 runs.

While continuing to bat after finishing 13/1 at the end of Day 2, Kraigg Braithwaite and Kirk McKenzie added 50 runs for the second wicket off 74 balls. However, Braithwaite had to walk back for 16 runs from 54 balls and fell to Cameron Green.

After the departure of captain Kraigg Braithwaite, Kirk McKenzie continued to build the innings with Alick Athanaze and added 23 runs for the 3rd wicket. However, McKenzie had to depart after scoring 41 runs from 50 balls and was caught in front by Australian spinner Nathan Lyon. After the fall of McKenzie, Athanaze put up a stand of 37 runs from 96 balls for the 4th wicket with Kavem Hodge and played some decent shots.

Though the Australian bowlers never allowed, the West Indies batsmen to settle at the crease, and in the same attempt, Alick Athanaze was dismissed for 35 runs from 72 balls. Nathan Lyon struck once again and was caught by Steve Smith. Kavem Hodge was also run out for 29 runs from 74 balls by Travis Head.

Soon, after the fall of Kavem Hodge, Joshua Da Silva also followed his steps and was removed by Mitchell Starc for 7 runs from 8 balls.

The West Indies have finished at 183/6 at Tea on Day 3 and currently lead by 205 runs against Australia. Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has picked up 2 wickets so far whereas, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc have picked up 1 wicket apiece.

Australia declared their first innings at 289/9 and trailed by 22 runs against West Indies in the first innings. Usman Khawaja was the highest run scorer for Australia and scored 75 runs. Apart from Khawaja, Alex Carey scored 65 runs from 49 balls, whereas Pat Cummins was unbeaten on 64 runs from 73 balls.

Alzarri Joseph picked up 4 wickets whereas Kemar Roach picked up 3 wickets. Shamar Joseph picked up 1 wickets whereas Kevin Sinclair picked up 1 wickets.

Australia defeated Pakistan by 3-0 in their previous Test series whereas, they were able to defeat West Indies by 10 wickets in the first Test match. Australia would want to continue the same approach in the second Test match as well and would be aiming to complete yet another whitewash in the Test series.

Australia currently top the World Test Championship 2023-25 standings whereas India are placed in the second spot.
