Devon Conway Makes Blunder
PC: X

New Zealand National Cricket Team batter Devon Conway didn't have a great outing with the bat in the ongoing second innings of the second Test against India National Cricket Team. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Devon Conway, who has been going through a great run of form in the ongoing Test series, failed to get going for the first time in the series. The opening batter fell early in the innings as Washington Sundar trapped him in lbw and provided his team with an early breakthrough.

On the second ball of the 10th over, Indian off-spinner Washington Sundar fired in full delivery around middle. The opening batter went for a sweep but missed it big time as the ball seemed to straighten enough and wrap the New Zealand opening batter on the pads.

The umpire didn't take long and raised his finger immediately. Devon Conway opted against the review and took a long walk back to the pavilion, suggesting to his partner that he didn't hit the ball. But the ultra edge later on suggested that the batter made a big blunder.

Devon Conway got a little under-edge but didn't feel it and hence India got a prized wicket that they wanted.

Devon Conway ends with an innings of 17 runs off 25 balls

Devon Conway ended with an innings of 17 runs off 25 balls. The opening batter slammed two fours in his innings, and with his wicket, New Zealand National Cricket lost their first wicket for 36 runs. But him not taking a review could prove to be a turning point for the team.

Devon Conway has been in terrific form in the ongoing series. The batter played a vital hand in the first innings, and it was because of that only that the New Zealand National Cricket Team was ahead in the game. He continued his form from the last game and slammed a crucial fifty.

Devon Conway, who slammed 92 runs in the Bengaluru Test, slammed another half-century and ended with an innings of 76 runs, which was the highest individual score for the team. His innings helped the team post a total of 259 runs on the board.

New Zealand in the driver's seat in the ongoing game

New Zealand National Cricket Team are in the driver's seat in the ongoing game. They look clear favourites to win the game as after bundling out India National Cricket Team for 156 runs, they have now taken a massive lead of over 200 runs.

India, who are 1-0 down in the series, would be keen to take early wickets and restrict their opposition to as low total as possible. To win the game, it would require a humongous effort from the hosts with the bat. The Rohit Sharma-led side haven't loss the series at home since last 12 years and would be hoping to keep that record in tact.
