In the final over of the powerplay, Pat Cummins dismissed Ayush Mhatre for 30 runs to reduce CSK to 47/3. Dewald Brevis and Ravindra Jadeja then steadied the ship but could not bat CSK to a strong position as the latter was dismissed by Kamindu Mendis for 21 runs.

Brevis, however, kept batting positively and was looking set to score a fifty before an outstanding catch from Kamindu Mendis ended his stay at the crease. The right-handed batsman departed in the 13th over after scoring 42 runs off 25 balls.

No-look six from Dewald Brevis:

Brevis' knock was studded with one four and four sixes. And one of those sixes was his trademark no-look six. It came in the 12th over when he took Mendis to the cleaners, hitting the Sri Lankan for three sixes.

On the very first ball of the over, Mendis bowled a tossed-up delivery on the leg stump, and Dewald Brevis made room for himself before hitting the ball over long-on. While hitting the ball, he had his head down as he did not even bother to look at the ball.
