Dewald Brevis, on Saturday (May 3), pulled off a stunning catch to send back Jacob Bethell in the ongoing match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision, however, was not justified by the CSK bowlers as they struggled to make an early impact. Bethell gave RCB a brilliant start by hitting Khaleel Ahmed for three fours in a row in the very first over.

In the third over, he hit Khaleel for a six while Virat Kohli hit the pacer for two more sixes as RCB's innings was off to a flying start. In the 4th over, CSK got the first chance to break the partnership when Bethell miscued Anshul Kamboj's delivery.

However, Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana ended up colliding into each other while going for the catch and dropped it. Pathirana had to leave the field after the collision, but did not take long to return to action. By the time the powerplay came to an end, RCB had raced away to 71 for no loss.

Dewald Brevis ends Jacob Bethell's innings:

Bethell made the most of the start and went on to complete his maiden IPL fifty. He reached the milestone with a four in the 9th over. With both Bethell and Kohli well set, CSK needed something special to break the partnership, and Dewald Brevis rose to the occasion.

He pulled off a stunning catch to send back Bethell and give CSK the much-needed breakthrough. It was the fifth ball of the 10th over when Pathirana bowled a short of length delivery to Bethell, and the latter went for a pull shot.

The RCB opener, however, could not make a good connection and ended up getting a top-edg,e although the ball was looking destined to fall in the no-man's land in the square leg region. However, Dewald Brevis had other ideas. The South African youngster charged in and dived forward to pull off an absolute stunner.

Watch the catch from Dewald Brevis:

Bethell departed after scoring 55 runs off 33 balls. Meanwhile, RCB were on 122/2 after 12 overs at the time of writing this report.
